- Describe your philosophy of education...
My philosophy of education is that students and teachers are explorers together in the world seeking information, truth, and reality in all things. Teachers are the navigators, guiding their students along their educational path, while exploring and building upon their current knowledge. My philosophy is that all students learn differently and it is important as an educator to identify and build upon a students' individual needs. I hope to create a safe environment in which every student can feel comfortable in expressing themselves academically and creatively.
- Describe your experiences using technology...
My experience with technology are extremely limited. I can use the Microsoft Word and go on the Internet, but that is about it. As an educator in a technology driven world, it is important for me to "keep up with the times" as some would say. This is why I am very thankful to be participating in this class because I know that as technology grows, I must grow with it.
- Describe how you think you will use technology in education...
Again, we live in a time of technology so therefore it is extremely important that I learn to keep up with all of the technology advances and use them to my benefit in the classroom. I plan on using the Smartboard as well as the document camera in my classroom when allowed. I do need to keep in mind as an educator that although I have access to these technology devices on campus, many of my students may not have access to them outside of school. Even though I may not be extremely proficient at these technology resources, I want to show my students how these various resource devices can help them with their educational growth!
